We love to play!
The North Country Children’s Museum is a non-profit organization formed in 2012 by a group of educators with a collective vision to create a cultural and educational center for families.
We started as a traveling “Museum Without Walls,” bringing our pop-up STEAM exhibits and programs to local festivals, bookstores, bakeries, and community centers. In 2018, we opened our permanent space at 10 Raymond Street in historic, downtown Potsdam. The museum’s exhibits celebrate the cultural and geographic resources of the North Country and reflect our commitment to hands-on, minds-on learning. We are adding a second story to the museum creating new exhibits and new opportunities for children and their families to play and learn together.
In creating engaging, fun, and memorable experiences, NCCM provides space for children to try on the role of scientist, engineer, artist, and creator, empowering them to be active and engaged problem solvers in our world. We need their voices, insights, and creativity.
Watching an idea grow has been an incredibly rewarding experience for the staff and many volunteers who have worked to make the museum a reality. It is a great joy to share NCCM—and the wonders of learning something new – with your family!
